Motorhomes and towable collateral

RV & Trailer Repossession

An RV assignment can involve a drivable motorhome, fifth wheel, travel trailer, camper or specialty trailer. Each category has different identifiers, hitch requirements, dimensions and movement risks. We review RV and trailer repossession files for lenders and lienholders across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.

Classify the collateral before choosing equipment

A Class A motorhome may require a qualified driver or heavy towing, while a fifth wheel needs the correct hitch and a travel trailer needs a compatible ball, electrical connection and safe running gear. Length alone does not settle the question. Gross weight, axle count, slide position, tire condition, brakes and current setting all matter.

VINs should be verified for the coach or trailer, and any separately financed tow vehicle should be treated as a different asset.

Campgrounds and storage properties add coordination

RVs are often located at campgrounds, storage lots, seasonal sites, repair facilities or rural property. Lot operators may have their own access rules, balances or documentation requirements. The lender should provide known site contacts and any recent borrower communications without assuming a third party will release the unit automatically.

Utilities, awnings, leveling equipment and personal property may need attention before movement.

A roadworthy appearance is not proof

A trailer can look ready to tow while having old tires, seized brakes, damaged bearings or missing lights. A motorhome may start but still be unsafe for highway travel. Observable condition is documented, then the appropriate transport decision is made from the available facts.

Current starting rates for fifth wheels, RVs and storage appear on the pricing page.

Questions lenders ask

Do you recover both motorhomes and campers?

Assignments can be reviewed for motorized and towable recreational vehicles.

Can the borrower’s belongings stay inside?

Personal-property handling depends on the file and applicable procedures. The client should identify known contents and provide release direction.

Is the listed towing amount always the final price?

No. The pricing page states starting charges, while distance, condition, access and equipment can require a custom quote.
