Post-recovery collateral handling

Recovery Transport & Storage

A successful repossession is not the end of the assignment. The collateral still needs a documented destination, appropriate storage and clear release instructions. Jacksonville Repo Company coordinates post-recovery handling based on the asset, its condition and the lender’s direction.

Choose the destination before costs accumulate

The lender should decide whether the unit will remain in local storage, move to an inspection site, go to auction or travel to another approved destination. Delayed instructions can create avoidable storage days and additional handling. For unusual assets, the destination must also be able to receive the equipment and unload it safely.

Our pricing page explains the current free-storage period after invoice payment and the daily rates that follow.

Transport depends on more than distance

Drivetrain, size, weight, key status, damage, locked steering and tire condition can determine whether a standard tow, flatbed, heavy-duty unit or specialized trailer is appropriate. Boats, RVs and equipment bring additional questions about dimensions, roadworthiness and permits. A quote should be based on confirmed facts rather than the asset name alone.

Long-distance movement may be arranged separately from the initial recovery.

Release requires clear authority

Collateral should be released only under verified client instructions. The receiving party, destination, transporter and required documents should be identified in advance. Condition photographs and recovery records help establish what was observed before the unit changed custody.

Personal property and keys are handled according to the file and applicable procedure, with questions escalated to the lender instead of improvised.
